Baptism is a public declaration of an inward decision to follow Jesus! It is a demonstration of identifying with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We practice baptism by immersion in water, which is the way Jesus was baptized and the way the Bible describes.
Mark 1:9-10 “And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:”
Matthew 28:19 ”Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Matthew 10:32-33 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
By being baptized, you are:
01 — Following the example set by Christ.
02 — Demonstrating your changed life.
03 — Declaring your commitment publicly.
Water baptism declares publicly what has happened privately.
